Women's Faith Formation...an interview with Sally Peters

Tell me a little bit abotu the Women's Faith Formation group.
Women's Faith Formation started several years ago when a group of women got together and decided they wanted to continue their spiritual formation through reading uplifting books as a group that would chalenge them to grow closer to God in their every day lives.

Who can be part of this group?
All women of faith who wish to have a deeper relationship with God.

How long have you been part of this ministry?
I have been a member since its beginning about 8 years ago.

What made you join the group?
I needed the spiritual enrichment that I hoped the group would lead to.

What are the responsibilities of a member or volunteer?
A volunteer must be willing to help choose the books we read, purchase the book for herself and read what we have agreed to read for each meeting. Also we take turns facilitating the meetings, but no one is forced to facilitate if she is uncomfortable doing so.

Is there any training necessary?
There is no training; just show up.

When do you meet?
The group meets on the first and third Monday of each month from the middle of August through May, except on Labor Day. We meet in the Parish Conference Room from 7-8pm.

How has the ministry helped the parishioners in our church?
Hopefully by deepening the faith of the women in the group.

What is the process to join the group?
Just show up. No pressure.

How has being a part of the ministry affected you?
I have learned more about having a deep relationship with God; I have met and become friends with a wonderful group of women.

Formacion de Fe para Mujeres...una entrevista con Sally Peters

Dime un poquito sobre el grupo de Fomacion de Fe Para Mujeres
El grupo comenzo hace varios años cuando un grupo de mujeres se reunieron y decidieron que querian continuar su formacion espiritual por medio de la lectura de libros que las retaria a crecer en la fe y a acercarse mas a Dios en la vida cotidiana.

¿Quien puede participar en este grupo?
Todas las mujeres de fe que deseen tener una relacion mas profunda con Dios.

¿Cuando comenzaste a participar en este grupo?
Soy miembro del grupo desde comenzo hace unos 8 años.

¿Que hizo que te unieras a grupo?
En ese tiempo estaba necesitada de algun enriquecimiento espiritual y pense que el grupo podria darmelo.

¿Cuales son las responsabilidades de un miembro o voluntario?
El miembro debe estar dispuesto a ayudar a escoger los libros que leemos. Tambien tiene que poder comprar el libro y leer las secciones asignadas para la proxima reunion. Tambien, rotamos a quien facilita la discucion. Claro que no se le fuerza a nadie a que lo haga si no se siente comoda facilitando.

¿Hay algun entrenamiento?
No, no hay ningun entrenamiento, solo venir a la reunion.

¿Cuando de reunen?
Nos reunimos el primer y tercer lunes de cada mes comezando en agosto y hasta mayo. Nos reunimos en el salon parroquial de 7-8pm. 

¿Como ayuda este ministerio a los feligreses de la Parroquia?
Esperamos que el ministerio ayude a los miembros a acercarse mas a Dios.

¿Cual es el proceso de hacerse miembro?
Solamente venir a la reunion

¿Como te ha afectado ser parte de este grupo?
He aprendido mas sobre como tener una relacion mas intima con Dios; ademas he conocido y he establecido una buena amistad con este maravilloso grupo de mujeres.
