February 27, 2018In 1978, St. Matthew's was founded as a mission of Blessed Sacrament Church, Atlanta. Many people have been instrumental in building up our parish family over the years. As we celebrate 40 years of being St. Matthew, I want to spotlight members of the parish from its days in Fairburn. Who were the wonderful characters that you remember? Who were the people who made an impact in how St. Matthew grew as a parish? What stories do you have that tell of the living faith in our parish? Do you have pictures you would be willing to share from events in yesteryear?
We are gathering stories, and hopefully pictures to go with them, to create a new monthly feature in the bulletin. If you have a parishioner you want to see spotlighted or have a story or picture to share please drop any ideas or entries off with Mario in the communications office where there will be a binder to put your memories in for use in the bulletin. If you are unable to come by the church during the week, you may give your stories/pictures to Julie Digby, Joyce Curry, Pam Digby or Cathy Prowell.
