THANK YOU!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
In a year when very little has seemed normal, I share with you the annual financial statement of the parish. The goodness and generosity in our parish family continue even amidst the disruptions of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Our faith grows as we return our thanks to the Lord for all the blessings that He has given us. As a parish we continue to live the example of tithing that we ask each family to live. Our tithing to St. Vincent de Paul Society has helped many families to make ends meet during the pandemic. Thank you for your generosity to offertory this year. Through the offertory we are able to pay all our bills. Through the offertory we have replaced the carillon bells. Through the offertory we support the various charities that other parishes support by a second collection. Through the offertory we are paying down our capital debt. Your generosity makes all this possible. Thank you!
Since Masses were suspended in March, the offertory has been greatly reduced. Thankfully the Archdiocese also suspended our monthly assessments and the need to pay down our capital debt for the last three months of the fiscal year. In June we received a PPP loan to pay the staff for July and August. Through all of these cost savings, we came through the fiscal year well.
Now as we begin to gather again for Mass, we can reconnect as community and grow as disciples. Our lives as disciples are richly blessed when we make a priority of giving thanks to God for his many blessings. Thank you for your generosity. Thank you for your support here at St. Matthew so that we can continue to proclaim the Gospel and share the love of God. Thank you for your faithful service. May the Lord continue to bless you and fill you with grace.
Peace and all good things,
Fr. Kevin
